For restaurants, Instagram is no longer a menu showcase. It's where people decide where to eat next, and Reels is where that decision happens fastest.
What to film
- Prep moments: dough being stretched, a plate leaving the grill, the sound of the pan. Sound is half of these videos.
- Signature dish: feature the one or two items that define the place, regularly.
- The team: the chef and staff give the brand a face.
- Atmosphere: evening light, full tables, music.
- What's new: seasonal menus, offers, special days.
Technical tips
Shoot vertical (9:16), show the most appealing shot in the first two seconds and keep videos between 15 and 30 seconds. Natural light is best for food; use warm fill light for evening shoots.
Plan for consistency
Several regular posts a week beat one big content day a month. Filming a month's content in a single day is the most efficient approach for both budget and consistency.
Measure and repeat
Track which videos get saved, shared, or lead to bookings or direction requests. Repeat the formats that work with new dishes.
